Today I was inspired by a chat at Tangie Baxter's Art Journal Caravan and attempted my first page with items from her Halloween workshop. Couln't seem to post it in their gallery and so I thought I would share it here.
I had a bit of fun today using items from Deviant Scraps collabrative kit, Midnight Reverie. It was a challenge to get the shadows correctly and so I am looking forward to PSE 11 where it will be easier to load actions. Until then I will still continue to have fun while the world around me is a construction zone.
This is a page I made with digital elements from Deviant Scrap's kit by Rucola. I had a great deal of fun working on this challenge by my friend, Nan. Now I have two more Deviant challenges to complete to be up to date with our challenges. I am trying to use only 8.5x11 for these pages.
Fall and Halloween are both favorites of mine. More to come soon.
This page is a quick view of a few things I have learned from the class at Big Picture Classes with Cathy Zielske on type. She is a very graphic scrapper and clean and simple. I love doing these layouts as clean and simple has always been my style. However, recently I have been impressed by all of the artists who are doing mixed media and art journal work. The following page is my attempt at a more playful page later in the day today.
We are being inundated with hot weather and smog from the fires on the eastern side of the state and I am longing for real fall weather. The cooler evenings we are experiencing are bringing my longing for fall even more strongly to the surface.
These pictures were taken last year at our favorite downtown park. The weather was cold and the leaves and trees were amazing. I do love fall.
