New Dina page

I call this a Dina page as I am still reading and using as inspiration the Dina Wakley book, Art Journal Freedom. I used a Tim Holtz paper and a new stencil by Dyan Reavley both of Ranger. The sprays are Distress ink sprays. 

This page is how I am feeling today. I am eager for the construction to end and for the weather to grow warmer and thus my pain to lessen. I am happy but hurting and so desire to be tough. Working with art supplies is a wonderful way to take the edge off and to lift my spirits. 

March Project Life page

This full page was the first that I spent extra time on to design where photos went and what items I used with them. Most of the cards are from my Studio Calico Project Life kit. I also have other PL supplies and Seafoam and Midnight digital kits from AC Digitals. The combination gives me a great diverse group of elements. This makes design for the year  easy and delightful. I hope that Studio Calico keeps offering these kits for many years. 

We spent a great day visiting friends in Duvall, WA and watching a 3-D movie on their new TV. I was finally able to figure out how to print on a ready made card using my Canon Pixma printer without using anything other than the back feed and the 3x4 card. 

This half was more of the day to day of our life under construction and the enjoyment of a favorite small Bistro in our neighborhood. 

The sun is shining and even though it is still quite chilly I am looking forward to Spring and the finish of the construction. My living and dining room have a few daffodils in small vases to brighten the mood and they are doing a great job.

Mom's Fashion Show

My mother sent this picture to me of the one and as she state only time she was in a fashion show. This was recently in Lake Placid, Florida, the small town she lives in. I think she had a great time. I put this together for the challenge in the facebook group that Tami Taylor has organized for those of us who are reading Dina Wakley's new book Art Journal Freedom. Part of the challenge this week was to make pages based on several of the different ideas that Dina suggested. This one is about the use of three of a kind.

Once again I had a great deal of fun putting this together. I used Distress spray and watercolor crayons for the streaks and bits of red to match the great red in the photo. I haven't the faintest idea what will happen next but I am certain it will spark my creativity on some level, as the book is amazing.

We have started a facebook page at Creative Passions to share the pages/layouts that we are creating based on challenges from Tami Taylor . She is sending out a new challenge each week based on the chapters in the new book by Dina Wakley titled, Art Journal Freedom. It is such a marvelous book to work from as Dina is one of the artists that I have admired for quite some time. 

I made one page because of the excitement and creative energy I felt after a webinar with Dina presented by Debbie Hodge at Masterful Scrapbook Design. These webinars each month with artist who are on the cutting edge of scrapbook design and art journaling are so wonderful. They excite and challenge me and I learn so very much from each of them. 

The following are my page from right after the webinar and then one that I put together in my journal as the start of using my own style in a free way as Dina encourages each one to try. They have both been very different for me to make as I tend to be very clean and simple. These were just plain fun.

I'll be back at the end of this week with some of my latest Project Life pages. I am doing about one or two spreads a month this year.
